Hallucinations creating art?

I recently did an art history assignment on Yayoi Kusama, a Japanese conceptual artist and writer. Her work is so fascinating and intriguing, taking on a complete world of its own. She is now 84 and has been voluntarily living in a psychiatric institution for almost her whole life. The hallucinations she as a result from her mental illness is the basis for all the ideas in her art. She is someone definitely worth googling, such an interesting person!
